  11. [...] All the rage among those who feel that a good honest tat is just pedestrian and are wishing to take it to the next logical step.  Logical?  Did I say logical?  While this lady arguably is more drunk than I’ve ever been, has balls way bigger than me, or is a CIPA sufferer… there are truly folks walking around who get off on this.   The tone should be set if I say that this is a link to… skin carving. 13. really cool…… i like things that are different from the normal tattoos and body piercing, my mate had a branding done and that was cool to watch, but smelt like BACON, how long did it take to do.

  14. OMG people please.
This is like the most stupid thing someone can do!
You can catch any sort of infection if you have this done.
Just look at the conditions…. A guy drinking beer in
    the back? come on.
    I don’t think there’s a way (a legal one at least) that
you can get this done in the US. The guy doing it would
be in jail for practicing surgery without the education
    and license.
The only way would would be “safe” is having it done by
a surgeon and remain inside an OR which is somewhat more
sterile for the length of time that your skin takes to
    scar.
For God’s sake are there this many stupid people on earth?

Ok, “Carlos” Everyone has the right to do whatever the hell they want. I have a carving too, do you think I give a _____about anyone that criticizes me over it? Obviously if you take the precautions you don’t get an infection. The guy drinking beer is in fact a woman, and she’s just watching how it’s done. Yes, there is a legal way to do it here, that is a tattoo convention. Carving is not surgery by the way, any moron knows that… Plus he has his tattooing license, that’s all he needs. You don’t just run around saying when a person does something it’s “stupid”, because that’s just being judgemental and why would you even care. Who’s getting the carving? Her. Not you right? So, Shut the _____ up.

I agree. If someone wants to get a carving it’s no one else’s business or problem. I have tattoos and would never in my life get a carving. Howecer, that doesn’t mean I don’t respect it as another form of art.

  15. As far as I know it is legal in the US. It’s known as scarification. I’m a tattoo artist in the UK but I have guest spots by some of the best and a German artist does scarification. I personally don’t agree with it, as there’s virtually no way to undo the process. At least with tattoos you have some options – coverups, laser, creams etc. With this, skin grafs are about the only choice you have, and as mentioned before the risk of infection etc. is high. My German friend claims that scarification attracts people who are into pain, and often those that self harm too.

  21. WOW, that looks scary in a way xD It’s cool somehow, but that thing on her back looks alive lol

    [Reply]

  22. Wow, that’s extreme. The end result is beautiful but I don’t think, even though I have 4 tattoos myself, that I would want to endure the pain of the process.

Thanks for your comment, Zander, it was very enlightening to hear from a professional about it (even if you’re just passing on the experience of someone who actually performs this service for people).

  23. OMG i want one SO bad! i am really good with pain! i would so get one just like hers1 it’s beautiful and amazing! so for all those jerks out there who find it gruesome and against human nature, that is your own opinion. people can do what they want in their own opinion.

  27. eech. beauty in the eye of the beholder…but that just seems…awful. there are people who have to have this sort of thing done for medical purposes, in life or death situations. They have to have these procedures to live. But we find people who take advantage of their healthy bodies and have this kind of thing done for fun? I am not one to judge but I think our time and money should be directed towards better causes that can help this world out. We seem to be on our last leg.
