The Death Bed

This post is to serve the purpose of warning us to be very careful about leaving our baby alone, even for a while.

A mother found her beloved baby dead cold with his head stuck between the bedpost and the bed. The baby was estimated to have died from suffocation as he tried to get out from the bed in the morning.
Looking at the conditions of the scene, it was confirmed that the baby had died from suffocation as he tried to free his head from the wooden barrier as he faced downwards on the bed and bedsheet which muffled his cries, unheard by anyone as his legs dangled unable to reach the floor. Looking at the torn bedsheet, you could only imagine his suffering as he blew his last breath.

Dear readers who have babies, please do take that extra care to keep your watchful eyes as even in bed, fatal accidents do happen.

You should really put some kind of warning on this page. These are very disturbing and tragic pictures.

I had mentioned that in the first paragraph.

Why does that not look like any design of baby bed that I’m familiar with? While the warning is well-heeded (and hard to view — I have an 8-month-old), I think a better admonition is to not put a child that young in a bed that is clearly a death trap waiting to happen.

Screw warnings. Don’t give people the chance to insulate themselves from reality so that they can pretend things like this couldn’t *possibly* happen to them.
